When she took a dose of her prescription codeine cough syrup, a woman realized that the bottle had been emptied and refilled with water. Her locked medicine chest had also been opened, and 2/3s of her pills were missing. Going downstairs, the woman tried to wake her daughter (who has a history of substance abuse), who seemed to be passed out, but with wide eyes and small pupils. The daughter later denied any involvement, and there was insufficient cause for arrest.

Sunday afternoon, officers and medics were dispatched to a local motel where a 49-year-old woman was deceased, sitting in a chair. Her boyfriend claimed the victim had been having trouble breathing. He also said that her severe bruises were several weeks old from a previous argument. The boyfriend—a north-end resident—was booked into King County jail for investigation of homicide.

Though his friend had offered to pay for only the first round of drinks, a man became angry when at the end of the evening he was reminded that he was responsible for the rest of the $21 tab. He threw his friend to the floor, stormed outside the North Admiral restaurant, grabbed a metal sign and smashed the victim's windshield.

After one of her friends ran away from home, an 8th-grader tried to be helpful by letting the parents know where they could find the missing girl. Since then, she has received hateful text messages, and her family's doorbell nameplate was defaced.

A North End resident was booked into King County Jail after he showed up at his ex-girlfriend's West Seattle home, displayed a gun in a shoulder holster, and threatened to hurt her. When told the police had been called, the suspect left, but later sent a variety of threatening text messages. Units from the North Precinct found the man at home and found two guns as well. The man denied visiting the victim.

Burglars paid a repeat visit to an Arbor Heights home they had “hit” nearly two weeks ago, this time taking jewelry and other items worth nearly $4,500. There was no sign of forced entry, but the homeowner states that no keys were missing from the previous break-in, and no garage-door openers had been taken.

A known transient who has been trespassed from many locations was arrested Sunday night after he chased a woman for several blocks near Fauntleroy and Alaska street, yelling and demanding her cell phone. A witness from a nearby store stated that the same man had earlier that evening stolen an 18-pack of Bud Light from a display. A computer check showed the suspect was wanted on a $190 criminal trespass warrant, but when he was booked into King County Jail, it was for investigation of strong-arm robbery of the woman.

A local 32-year-old with multiple mental illnesses had been off his meds for a few days when he became upset with his girlfriend. The girlfriend's roommates felt uncomfortable with him staying at the residence and asked him to leave. The man grabbed a knife before doing so. He came back later with a cut on his side, 4 inches long and a half-inch deep. When he realized police had been called, he extinguished his lit cigarette on his neck and ran off. He was found in the 3700 block of SW Cloverdale and taken to Harborview for an involuntary commitment.

A man wanted on a felony escape warrant from the Department of Corrections was arrested after a disturbance at an Admiral-area gas station Friday afternoon.

On Genessee Hill Saturday evening, a man held a knife to his girlfriend's throat, and when she tried to run he pulled her back into the house by her hair and kicked her several times in the head. The victim was able to escape out a window and run to a friend's house. (The previous night he had assaulted her and stolen her cell phone, keys, and wallet.) Medics transported her to Harborview for treatment. In the meantime, officers found the suspect in a backyard north of his residence. During his arrest he screamed incoherently and kicked an officer in the wrist and knee. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault, assault against an officer, and violation of a no-contact order. He was also wanted on a $10,000 domestic violence assault warrant from Normandy Park and on a $5,000 DUI warrant from Seattle.
