A 31-year-old West Seattle man with a long history of defacing property with homophobic slurs was arrested at a Junction bus stop on Thursday after being spotted by officers. Most recently he is suspected of defacing both a garage door of a residence on Admiral Way and the tennis backboard at Hiawatha Playfield. In his backpack were a black marker, a fixed blade knife, and a silver pen. He was booked into King County Jail for possession/concealment of a knife or cutting instrument.
A teenager was recuperating at home Wednesday around noon when she heard the doorbell ring, followed by the sounds of someone trying to break in through a rear door. She called 911, and officers arrived to find fresh pry marks around the back door, which was ajar.
Just around the corner (3800 block of 40th SW) and around the same time, someone stole items from a detached garage. A neighbor stated that an older “Cutlass-type” vehicle had been driving slowly through the neighborhood and had sped off when the passenger realized they had been spotted.
In North Admiral, after an argument with his stepfather, a 17-year-old grabbed an 8-inch knife from a kitchen drawer and tried to stab him three times. The teen then dropped the knife and left before officers arrived. He remains at large.
When officers responded to an Arbor Heights address regarding a verbal argument between brothers, they discovered that one was wanted on a $10,000 assault warrant. He was booked into King County Jail.
A mental patient was placed into “solitude” after he threatened to kill a staff member if anyone tried to give him medication. The HIV-positive patient later spat in the face of two staffers, grabbed a third by her hair, and repeatedly slammed her head against an open door. Officers took down the information for a report.
Officers responded to an assault and harassment call at a South Park restaurant on Thursday, where a known troublemaker had picked up a 8-inch knife and advanced on an employee and threatened his life. They found the suspect nearby, and as an officer walked him to a car, the suspect said, “Look at me in my eyes. I am going to kill you. Remember me.” The 23-year-old was booked into King County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault with a weapon, harassment, and threats to kill.
