Ed was taken to his eternal rest on August 22, 2006, after a short stay at Swedish Hospital. He was a lifelong West Seattle resident, graduate of West Seattle High School and Kings Point Academy, New York. He served in the Merchant Marine during WWII. Ed retired after 33 years at General Steamship. An avid skier, he enjoyed many trips to the mountains with family and friends.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Pauline, of 60 years; children: Dianne (Larry) Koltz, Paul (Randi) Mason, Susan (Mick) Zorin, Rob (Sandy) Mason: grandchildren Erik, Ben (Karie) Koltz, Becca (Don) Neyhart, Jennifer & Stephanie Zorin, Derek and Dylan Mason. Great-grandsons: Kristopher and Tavis Koltz; Brother, Wayne (Jane) Mason. He was preceded in death by his brother Howard and sister, Zoe (Keever).
The family gives special thanks to Dr. John, Gloria, and Myrhna at the Poly Clinic for their faithful care.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2006, at Hope Lutheran Church, 4456 42nd Ave SW.
