Ethel J. Ralkowski

Age 92, a long time resident of Vashon Island and Seattle, died peacefully in her sleep on September 7, 2006. Beloved wife of William V. Ralkowski, preceding her in death on October 30 of 1962. Ethel was a devoted mother to three children, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Their family home on Dolphin Beach, Vashon Island, provided a wonderful environment to raise their sons and daughter, who learned to live life to the fullest, and to love people from all walks of life. Ethel graduated from the University of Washington in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. She loved reading, entertaining, gardening, playing tennis, fishing, watching the Mariners and Tiger Woods.

She is survived by one brother, Walter Reid, two sons- Jan (wife Robbie), and Walle (wife Sharon Hendrickson), one daughter, Jean Campbell, five grandchildren, Manya, Mark, Quan, Maya and Matthew, and one great granddaughter, Ellie. All reside in Seattle, Washington.

A celebration of her life will be held at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, 3050 California Ave SW, Seattle, Washington 98116, on September 16, 2006 at 11 a.m.
