Richard E. Sever

Dick Sever, beloved husband, friend, father, and grandfather passed away on October 29, 2006 at Providence Hospital from complications of heart disease.

Dick was born on July 1, 1925 in LaCarosse, Washington to Harry and Clara Sever. His family, on his mother's side, settled in Washington Territory in 1859. His father's family were also pioneers in the Palouse area before Washington became a state.

He lived in Pullman and Colfax as a child, graduating from Pullman High School in 1943. He served in the Army in WWII, and graduated from Washington State College in Electrical Engineering in 1948.

Dick began his career at Boeing and, except for five years with the Bonneville Power Administration in Portland, was with Boeing until his retirement in 1988.

He is survived by; his wife Marie; their children Ann Luce (Roger), Susan Sever, Rick Sever (Lisa), Peggy Fox (Bill); their grandchildren Tom and David Luce, Lauren, Dan, and Victoria Fox; their fostered niece Louise Lindgren, and a large extended family.

A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Fauntleroy Church UCC, 9260 California Avenue S.W.

Remembrances may be made in his name to the West Seattle "Meals On Wheels", where he volunteered for many years, or the "Hope Heart Institute" at Providence Hospital.
