William G. Craig

William G. Craig, age 96, died September 9 while staying in Virginia

with his daughter and her family.

Mr. Craig was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia in 1910. He moved to

Seattle when he was 18 years old. He was in the printing profession

for many years. He retired, and then became a piano tuner until a

few months ago. He was a violinist and played in several string

quartets and was in the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra for a number

of years. He took up lawn bowling in his 50's and won championships

in the Pacific Northwest in singles tournaments and won the US Open

in 1981 in pairs and the US Championship in pairs in 1986 with

his partner John Johnson.

Mr. Craig was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve, in 1987. He

will be greatly missed by his daughter and her husband, Judy and Tom

Nyman, his granddaughters and their husbands, Kristina and Todd

McAnally and Shondra and Dennis O'Keefe and 5 great grandchildren:

Alexa and Colleen McAnally and Ryan, Kyla and Braden O'Keefe.

There will be a gathering of friends and relatives on November 4 at

1:00pm at the Jefferson Park Lawn Bowling Club on Beacon Hill.
