Janice Clark Lipsky

Janice Clark Lipsky, 81, made her transition on December 13, 2006, at her home in Lynden. Janice was born on May 18, 1925 and raised in West Seattle with her sister and two brothers. She graduated from West Seattle High School in 1943. In 1944 she married Garth A. Lipsky at West Seattle Christian Church.

Janice is survived by two daughters, Kathy L. Shadrick , Carol L. Essick and partner Starr Johnson of Lynden; her brother Bob (Charlotte) Clark of West Seattle; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Keith) Deshaies of Lynden and Bryan Essick of Seattle; and two great grandchildren, Jake and Tessa Jones of Lynden.

Jan spent 30 happy years serving in the King county council of Camp Fire Girls. She was awarded the national Luther Halsey Gulick Award for her service.

For 35 years Jan and Garth owned and operated their own business, L & O Distributing, Inc. in Seattle. Upon their retirement they moved to Sandy Point, near Ferndale where they enjoyed many fishing and boating excursions.

Jan was a very active and supportive member of Woodside Spiritual Center.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity of your choice. A Celebration of Jan's Life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Woodside Spiritual Center, 2224 Yew St., Bellingham. Arrangements under the care of Jerns Funeral Chapel & On-Site Crematorium of Bellingham.
