Two injured in hit-and-run

On February 17th at approximately 6:56 p.m., Federal Way Police responded to the call of a Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident involving two pedestrians and one vehicle located near 1800 SW 356th St.
Upon arrival, police located two injured individuals at the scene and it was reported an additional individual had left the scene on foot. This person was later located near an unrelated residence.
Initial investigation has shown a blue Dodge Dakota pick-up was being driven eastbound on SW 356th St by an Asian male, who is a 59 year old resident of Federal Way.
At the same time two pedestrians, a 20 year old Hispanic male and resident of Kent along with a 16 year old white male and resident of Tacoma, were walking eastbound on SW 356th St. In an attempt to reach a nearby bus stop, the two pedestrians began to run across SW 356th St and were struck by the vehicle.
The 16 year old was later released to a family member after being interviewed and transported for medical care with non-life threatening injuries.
The 59 year old was transported to Harborview Medical Center by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The 20 year old was transported to Harborview Medical Center via helicopter with life threatening injuries. Initial investigation has shown alcohol may
have been a factor in the collision.
The Federal Way Police Department’s Traffic Division with the assistance of the Major Accident Response Team is currently following leads from witnesses and other involved parties in an attempt to further investigate this incident.
