Jack D. Giorgetti of West Seattle passed away in the early morning hours of March 16, 2007 with his loving family by his side. Jack fought a courageous battle of lung cancer. He knew about his illness in the summer of 2006 but instead of treatment, he sacrificed his life to care for his loving wife, Jeannette of 63 years who preceded him in death on Dec 9, 2006. His wish was to live long enough to take care of his wife.

Jack was born in Seattle on November 23, 1923 to Emilia and Secondo Giorgetti. He graduated from West Seattle High School in 1941. Jack met Jeannette at the Roller Bowl Skating Rink when Jeannette was 14 and Jack was 16 years old. Jack married Jeannette Murphy in Lawrence, Kan. on August 14, 1943 while he was in the Navy. He served as a machinist mate 2nd class aboard the USS Talladega APA-208 in the Pacific during World War II. He participated in the Iwo Jima and Okinawa Campaigns. He was honorably discharged from the military, December 9, 1945.

In 1945 they bought their first home in West Seattle, where they settled and raised their family for 61 years. He worked as a journeyman machinist at Stetson Ross in Seattle and later was a sales representative for Liberty Equipment and Supply Co. He was a partner in the R.L. Murphy Co. and finished his work career at Pacific Pools.

Everyone in West Seattle knew Jack. During his daily walks he'd wave, say hi, and talk to everyone whether he knew them or not. Jack was an avid Seahawks fan. In 1975 when the Seahawk franchise was born, he ordered season tickets and never missed a game until just recently when his wife was ill and in the hospital. He cherished taking his kids, grandkids, and next door neighbor and good friend, Bob D'Amicol to the games with him.

Jack loved golf and his favorite course was West Seattle where he shot two holes in one. He treasured summertime when his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids came over to his house to swim.

He is survived by sons, Mike and Pat Giorgetti of Renton; daughter, Anita Giorgetti-Fix of West Seattle; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew of California. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannette, sister, Parigina Rush, and nephew, James Rush.

At his request, no services will be held. Remembrances may be made to Providence Hospice or your favorite charity.
