Age 91, born in Kirkwall, Scotland, Dec. 1, 1915, died peacefully April 27th. John was 1 of 4 sons born to Alfred and Elsie Scott Sr. He grew up in West Seattle, became a quartermaster in the Merchant Marine, worked as foreman for General Construction. John touched countless lives as a successful grocer owning stores in West Seattle, Beacon Hill, White Center, Lake City, and Rainier Valley. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, loving father and brother. John is survived by his brother Ronald (Jean) Scott; sons, Richard (Eileen), Jim (Patti), Daniel (Susie) and daughters Julie (Bill) Gurrad, and Meridith (Russ) Keyes; also 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
