Mom invited her adult daughter to move in. Daughter assumed that her cats—several dozen of them— were welcome too. A year has passed, and mom is ready for the daughter and her feline family (now 30 cats strong) to move back out. Frustrated by the stench and destruction, Mom allegedly took a swing at daughter with a chair. She was booked into King Count Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault. She was also provided with information on how to properly seek an eviction through the King County Sheriff.
Around 4:30 on Monday afternoon, a woman was waiting for the bus at 43rd and Alaska when a stranger asked her the time, yanked her phone from her hand, and ran off westbound.
While speeding down SW Alaska St, a 66-year-old caught sight of an officer. In response, he slammed on his brakes, ended up going into a skid, and nearly slid into the patrol car. He had the required driver's license and proof of insurance, but he also had a “wanted” status in Pierce County for failing to register as a sex offender. He was arrested and booked into King County Jail for this no-bail offense.
Concerned when his friend didn't pick him up from work, a man went to her home and forced his way inside. The body of the 39-year-old woman—who had just gotten out of rehab—was on the floor. Officers found six empty cans of compressed air (used for getting high) in the residence. She was pronounced deceased by medics.
Down in South Park, a man allegedly came into a business for a job application. But when he began asking the female office manager, “Is your boss here?” and “Are you here alone?” she became suspicious. The weirdness continued: When the man left the business he stopped to write down the manager's license plate number before parking his car at the end of the block and hunkering down inside. Officers felt the man had “mental difficulties” and trespassed him from the business. The office manager has been advised to call 911 if he returns.
Wednesday evening, at 44th and Othello, two people were shot by a man wielding a BB gun. The suspect—a white male—was riding in a dark SUV with a driver and a golden-colored dog.
A man happened to be sitting in a reception area of a South Park business when he looked outside and saw his brother's car window being shattered by a teen. When officers arrived, they found the 14-year-old pinned to the ground by the 40-year-old. The suspect was released to his mother but faces charges of vehicle prowling.
Around 7 a.m. on a recent Monday, a citizen called 911 to report that someone had just dumped a trash-filled boat into the middle of the intersection at 7th Ave. S. and S. Director. The craft is registered to a Renton address.
A 33-year-old Alki woman was arrested for assault after she pinched (twice) a customer in the crotch at an Alki-area restaurant/bar.
