Jane Oman Reed

Age 80, passed away peacefully at home with her family on August 12, 2007. Born April 7, 1927 in Everett, Betty grew up and attended school in West Seattle.

Her career began as an elevator operator in the days of uniforms and white gloves. She went on to work at Society Candy, Bemis Bag, Henry House Meats, and Northwest Envelope. She retired from American Envelope in 1994. Betty also volunteered at the YMCA for several years.

She loved being with family and friends, crossword puzzles, bingo, knitting and crocheting, watching poker and Court TV, weekly card games with the senior ladies group, and was very lucky on slots. Betty was a loving, kindhearted beautiful person and will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by mother Jessie Louise Solee Oman, father John William Oman Sr., brothers, Gordon (Bud), Melfred (Bob), John W. Oman Jr., sister Margaret Young and namesake niece Betty Louise Olsen. Survived by daughter Christina Garrison Halse (John), brother Jerome Oman (Ruth), sister Louise Saxwold, nephews Bob Olsen, Steve Gill, Wayne Cox, Mark Saxwold, Jeff Oman and nieces Carolyn Johnson, Pam Akerman and their families.

Their was a celebration of Betty's life on Sunday, August 19, 2007.
