Passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 after a long, hard fought battle with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He will be remembered by family and friends alike as a determined adventurer and educator who loved the different cultures of the world as well as his many students.

John Taught for 30 years at Denny Middle School in West Seattle. His spare time was dedicated to travel throughout the world. He is survived by his wife Laura, sister Dorothy Wood, seven nephews and their families.

Memorial services are scheduled for 12 p.m. September 29 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 3050 California Avenue, Seattle. In lieu of flowers, john requested that donations be made to the Christian Children's Fund at http://www.ChristianChildrensFund.org.
