Our favorite free spirited West Seattle resident passed away in September.

Everyone who knew Gert loved and admired her unique personality and vibrant active lifestyle. She had a great sense of adventure, traveling to the southwest, Idaho and especially Montana, where she would find the perfect campsite and swimming hole. Also our family made many trips to her mother and stepfather's lakeside cabin in Minnesota, which included a sauna. She was so proud of her Finnish heritage. Her passions included jewelry, all kinds of music and dancing until dawn.

Gert definitely made an impact on all those she met, whether it was a five-minute meeting in the grocery store or her friendships of more than 30 years. Her children Kevin, Kennison and Bret Cope miss her every day.
