Erna left us peacefully on Sept. 11, at age 95. Born and raised in Ahrensburg Germany, she married Carl H. Kroll in 1934 and then moved to West Seattle. They built their own house here in which they have happily lived together for 73 years.

Over the years they have enjoyed numerous trips to Germany as well as the rest of Western Europe to visit with relatives and childhood friends. She was actively involved in the operation of the family raspberry farm in Kitsap County on weekends and throughout the summers.

She was a dedicated, loving housewife in the traditional sense as well as a loving and gentle mother.

Erna was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Carl; two sons, Carl (Linda) and Detlev (Gale); four grandchildren, Carl B. (Vicky), William, Renate and Alden (Meghan) and one great-grandchild Xabrina.
