Passed away on November 19, 2007.
She was born Nov. 4, 1915, in Three Forks Montana. As only one of three students in her graduating high school class to attend college, it was especially noteworthy for her to receive a BS from Montana State University. Edna was a Home Economy teacher in several Montana communities, before marrying George (Dick) McKinney in Seattle in 1942.
As a teenager during the Depression, Edna's parents encouraged their children to attend college no matter what the sacrifice. One legacy that she passed on was the significance of advanced schooling. She vigorously encouraged all of her children and grandchildren to pursue their educational dreams.
In 1955, Edna and her husband built a home near Alki Beach. Edna spent her happiest years supporting her husband and raising four children in this community. She was the most devoted wife and mother, always putting the needs of her family, before her own. Edna was active at Alki Congregational Church and known for her famous "Grandma's Jelly Cupboard" at the annual bazaar. Edna loved gardening and her beautiful yard showed off the fruits of her labor. To the very end, she enjoyed devouring all the details in the Wall street Journal and clipping articles to send to various family members.
Edna was preceded in death by her spouse of 45 years, George (Dick). She is survived by her four children Richard McKinney, Seattle; Michael McKinney, Seattle; Kathleen Nokes, San Diego; and David McKinney, San Francisco. As well as five grandchildren Riley, Blair, Mollie, Richard and Christopher.
A private service will be held Dec. 1. Remembrances may be made to the local American Cancer Society.
Maude Montana Williams
Age 96, passed away at her home in Longview, Wash., on November 25, 2007.
She was born to Harry and Maude Mary (Peters) Williams on September 10, 1911 in Butte, Montana.
Ms. Williams graduated from Cleveland High School. She then graduated from the University of Washington in 1933 with a Master's Degree in Teaching and worked as a teacher and a principal in the Naselle and Seattle areas. She was a concert pianist and a beautiful singer. She also played the piano at her church.
Ms. Williams was a member of the Tibbits United Methodist Church in West Seattle. She was also a Charter and longtime member of the University Women's Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and Alpha Delta.
Montana never married but is survived by a cousin, Lou Martin, in Des Moines; Close friends and caregivers, Tom and Rosie Craig of Castle Rock, WA.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-7 at Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home in Kelso.

Gertrude "Trudy" Evangeline Woodward
Age 94, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in Kent. Trudy is survived by her daughter, Joy Brauning; son, Jim Firestone (Kay); stepdaughters, Edna Paulson (John) and Venda Clark (Marv); stepsons, Tom Woodward (Sandy) and Ernest Woodward (Janet); 27 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren and her two nephews.
Viewing was held on Thursday, November 29th from 3 to 8 p.m. Graveside committal services were held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA (206) 242-1787. A Celebration of her life was held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 25636 - 140th Avenue SE, Kent, WA 98042.

Brian Lee Yates
Was born December 29, 1955 in Seattle, Washington to Howard and Marjorie Yates. He died at his home in Boise, Idaho on November 21, 2007 from cancer.
Brian grew up in West Seattle and graduated from West Seattle High School in 1974. After working for American Dry Ice in Seattle he transferred to Boise in 1982 as branch manager. He managed the Boise branch for 18 years until his retirement.
Brian married Connie Watkins in 1984. Together they raised three children. Brian's first passion was snow skiing. He coached his 3 kids through 11 years of baseball and soccer. He also enjoyed camping with his family in his 1969 VW camper. He enjoyed reading history, fishing, hiking the foothills with his dogs, the ocean, and music.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Connie of Boise and his kids, Weston, Wilson, and Brianna; and his brothers, Ronald and Steve.
A special thanks to Angel Flight and the good people of Life's Doors Hospice. Memorial Services will be held at Brian's home in Boise, Idaho at a later date. Arrangements are by Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel.
