Passed away on December 24, 2007 at 92. He was born May 6, 1915 in Huntley, MN to Homer and Rosa Ellen Parsons as one of five children. Lloyd married Dorothy Lien (from Delavan, MN) on May 5, 1940 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They had three children: Kay, Judy and Jeff. In 1942, Lloyd and Dorothy moved to Seattle where he worked at the Shipyards as a sheet metal worker. In 1944 he was called to serve as a Seabee. Dorothy and the girls lived in Delavan while he was gone. When he came back from Guam they returned to the northwest and raised their family in Seattle. Lloyd could do anything and fix anything. He could be found in his shop working on a new idea. He had patents on several of his inventions. The yard and garden were passionate interests of his. Lloyd continued to work in the sheet metal (HVAC) industry until retirement. A bit of an adventurer he rode in hot air balloons, glide planes, loved go carts and tried water skiing. Lloyd had a wonderful smile, good sense of humor and a magnetic personality. His family and friends will truly miss him. He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in October 2005; his parents; sisters Nellie Vegetti and Beth Ballard; brother Melvin Parsons. Surviving him are his sister Avis Butler also many cousins, nieces and nephews. His surviving family are: two daughters Kay Parsons McAvinew (Jerry) and Judy Parsons and son, Jeff Parsons (Sally), four grand children - Tony McAvinew (Karen), Tracy McAvinew Powell (Tim), Maureen Parsons Busby (Michael) and Chris Parsons (Liz), three great grandchildren - Mason & Mackenzie Powell and Sydney McAvinew. Funeral service is planned for Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 12:30 PM, Bonney Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 International Boulevard, SeaTac, WA (206) 242-1787.
