Beverley Irene Burtch was born in Butte, Montana to Russell and Sophie Morrison on June 29, 1924. She died on January 16, 2008 in Seattle. Beverley was the beloved wife of 49 years of Charles Burtch, sister of Margaret Breen (of Butte, Mont.) and mother of Deeann Puffert and husband Rich (of Seattle), and Gary Burtch and wife Heather (of Pittsburgh, Pa.). She took great joy in her four grandchildren Grace and Laurel Puffert, and Kelly and Luke Burtch. Beverley loved community service, especially when it involved children and youth. She was very involved in her churches (Seaview United Methodist Church and Highland Park UMC) including more than six years as a youth group leader. A staunch supporter of public education, she worked as a tutor in several area schools and in community tutoring programs. Beverley was the consummate "home" maker. She especially loved welcoming and feeding people. We know that she now rests in heaven. Peace to her memory! Memorial services were held at Seaview United Methodist Church, 4620 S.W. Graham St., Seattle on Monday, Jan. 21. Gifts can be directed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.
