White Center Jubilee Days Parade will be bigger than ever

The White Center Jubilee Days Parade beginning at 10 AM on Sunday July 18, will be bigger and more fun than ever according to organizers.The line up this year features the band Champagne Sundays as the Grand Marshall as well as the Seafair Pirates, Seafair Clowns and the equestrian team the Charros with the Tanboraso Band. The parade is starting from S. W. 114th Ave and will travel north up 16th Ave S. W. and conclude at S. W. 100th Ave. Arrive a little early to get a good place to see it.

The Wild Ones Biker Club
SHAG – Arrowhead Gardens Independent Living for Seniors
Mario’s entries/stilt walker and Unicyclist – Eric Haines is the comedy rocket master stilt walker. He proves once and for all that eating your vegetables will make you grow big and tall. Alex Kowalcyk (CO-WALL-SICK) is the Seattle’s Pike Place Market juggler. He is also super-tall on his unicycle. He will be performing at the South Stage at the White Center Jubilee Days festival.

Westside Drill Team – Westside Drill Team was formed in 2008. They are a young Youth Empowered program. They help the youth with life improvement and struggle. They also give back to their community while improving within. Drill Team formed by Jazzmaine Bailey. Captain Veronica and Savannah, Co-Captain Jada Bailey.
McLendon’s Hardware sponsoring a 1931 antique Ford Flatbed truck. The truck is owned and driven by Craig Holmes. McLendon’s has been a part of Puget Sound since 1926. Family owned and operated with 6 locations.
Friends of Joe Fitzgibbons – Joe is running to represent White Center in the State House. He was born and raised in Burien.

Everett Eagles – Michelle Mullins, they are active members within our local communities as they strive to live by their fraternal order of Eagles motto, “People helping people”. Throughout the year you will see them marching in parades, having fun and making lifelong friendships.
Seafair Princess Scholarship Program – Celebrating its 61st year this summer, Seafair connects and celebrates the community spirit of the Puget Sound region. In the parade is Miss Seafair 2009-2010, Jackie Saarenas from the Filipino Community. She is with the 2010 Scholarship Program Princess participants, vying for the Miss Seafair title this summer. Escorting Miss Seafair and the Princesses will be the Seattle Seafair Commodores. The Commodores are a group of volunteer men and women dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the Greater Seattle community and are led by 2010 Commandant John Andor. The new Miss Seafair will be selected at the Coronation just prior to the Seafair Torchlight Parade, Saturday July 31st.
The Dolls – The award winning Dolls Drill Team is a non-profit organization formed in October 2005. The foundation of the Dolls stem from experienced marchers that wanted to make a difference in the lives of the young ladies. These ladies are taught etiquette, humility, professionalism, respect and pride in achievement. The eye catching uniforms and show stopping movements of the Dolls will definitely keep you smiling.
The Baby Dolls – This award winning Baby Dolls Drill Team was created in October of 2005 and consists of young ladies between the ages of 6-11. Being a Baby Doll allows young ladies a chance to understand the importance of community service, teamwork and responsibility. The Baby Dolls love to smile, perform and overall, have fun.
Jim McDermott - Jim McDermott – Congressman Jim McDermott has served Washington’s 7th Congressional District for the past 21 years with distinction and honor. His work in public service, however, spans the past 39 years. Jim first entered into public life in the Washington State Legislature in 1970. He currently serves as chair of the House Ways and Means subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support.
The Low riders –
The Charros Association of Washington state with the Tanboraso Band have been together for 15 years as a group. They perform all over the state of Washington. They have received first place trophies in: Pasco, Selah, Sunnyside, Duvall, Carnation, Kent, Wenatchee, Snohomish, and their hometown of Brier.
Southwest Little League
Northside Drill Team and Drum Squad – For the past 10 years the award winning Northside Drill Team and Drum Squad of Seattle, Washington has been dedicated to providing children and youth with an artistic way of expression in order to prevent negative behaviors such as drug use, gang violence, and teen pregnancy. Their mission is to teach youth the principles of harmony, leadership, and discipline through performing arts and community service. They are directed by DarNesha Weary. Captain is Danika (Dah-knee-ka) Webber, Co-captains Chanika Franklin and Ta’Ani Bush.
John Michaud - A 1930 Model A Ford Coupe, owned by Mr. John Michaud. This car has been restored from 11 other cars, from at least 3 states. This car has been 30 years in the making.

Grand Marshalls - Champagne Sunday - Powerful, honest, edgy, and refreshingly original, Champagne Sunday attacks the stage with a show that is heartfelt, engaging, and performed with a desperate enthusiasm and chemistry seldom seen in today’s rock bands. Champagne Sunday transcends genre enough to create their own, coalescing the multi-genre tastes of today’s fickle audiences into a catalog that defies traditional definition. Their 2006 release "Make It Mine" garnered some radio play from local and college stations and won the group three MAVRIC* awards (including Best Rock Song and Best Overall Song of 2007) out of five nominations. The band toured nationally twice in 2007 in support of the album and expanded their fan base to New York and Seattle.
With the release of their follow-up album "North" in 2008, the band won three more MAVRIC awards and landed an endorsement deal with Dean Markley. From Sept. ‘09 to Feb. ’10, after recording their five-song EP “Random Acts of Blindness”, the band toured relentlessly in the Pacific Northwest and California, promoting their music and perfecting their live show. For 2010, the band is focusing on expanding its fan base while pursuing opening slots for major touring acts.

Sweet Mahogany Drill Team was established in 1986 by Denise Brown for young ladies throughout Washington State from ages 6-18. Sweet Mahogany has won countless awards across the Pacific Northwest even including Seattle’s own Seafair Torchlight Parade. Not only is Sweet Mahogany Drill Team about performing, but giving back to the community. Please welcome Sweet Mahogany Drill Team, under the leadership of Tracy Brown, Larissa Jackson, and Sauvignon Quinichett, Captain Tyana Brown and Co-Captain Tahjmah (Tah-zj-mah) Seck-Walker.

Platinum Plush Drill Team – Platinum Plush Drill & Drum Team is under the direction of Cynthia Gray. The program targets youth ages 5-18 years old who are committed to marching, drumming, choreography and performance. Their mission is to build character, leadership and discipline.
Tiny’s Group –
The All City Bank of Seattle – The All-City Bank brings together students from schools throughout the greater Seattle area to entertain in upwards of 20 community celebrations each summer. The band is under the direction of alumnus Marcus Pimpleton, music director at Denny Middle School and marching band director at Chief Sealth High School. In recent years the band has accepted engagements throughout the Puget Sound region as well as in Southern California, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and New York. Mr. Pimpleton is assisted by a volunteer staff of All City Bank alumni.
34th District Democrats – This group represents candidates and supporters for several offices including: state Senate Joe McDermott, a candidate for County Council Position 8, State Representative Eilean Cody, and candidate for State Representative Position 2 Marcee Stone
King County Police Captain Butschli –
The Northern Alliance with Director Darwin Eagleton – This group was founded in 2003 for the Portland community by Darwin Eagleton the Director of Operations. The group spans all-age groups with members as young as 14 years old. The Northern Alliance is an award winning group that has won various awards all over the Northwest. They have participated in Portland's Starlight Parade, Long Beach Parade, Astoria Regatta Parade, Hazel Dell Parade, as well as many other local competitions along the West coast region.
Baby Dangerettes - Baby Dangerettes Drill Team was formed in 1987 at the Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club. In 1990, the Dangerettes, having great success and more members to accommodate, formed two teams. The Miss Dangerettes ranging in ages from 13-18 and the Baby Dangerettes ages 5-12. This group represents the meaning of DRILL; discipline, respect, intellect, leadership, and love. They exemplify constant growth as individuals. They call themselves a “family” much more than a team.
Seafair Clowns, founded in 1953, under the auspices of the Graduates Club of Seattle University, these volunteers entertain those attending annual Seafair community parades and festivals and by also taking the spirit of Seafair to those not able to attend. This Seafair you will find the clowns visiting hospitals, nursing homes, care centers, day camps, community festivals and events. Annually, the group travels to festivals throughout the Pacific Northwest, Canada and Mexico. Sharing, caring, and laughter…share a smile and welcome the SEATTLE SEAFAIR CLOWNS on their 57th Anniversary.
Electronetts Pretty Girls Drill Team – The Electronetts Drills Team has been in existence for over 20 years under the direction of Dorothy Worthy and daughter ViTina (Vi-Tina) Patterson, with competitions in Chicago, Las Vegas, Tulsa, Portland and Ocean Shores. The Drill Team consists of inner city youth from all economic backgrounds starting at age 5. They instill self-respect, discipline, self-esteem and respect for others.
Electronetts Jazzlyn Divas Drill Team and Drum Squad – The Electronetts Jazzlyn Divas Drill Team will dazzle and capture everyone’s attention with their electrifying performance of head snapping, hand clapping, foot stomping and fancy hand maneuvers that are very eye catching. You don’t want to blink because you may miss one of their many spectacular moves.
North Highline Fire District – Included in the parade are a 2006 Pierce Fire Engine, a 2001 Pierce 70 foot Telesquirt, a 2001 Air truck, a 2002 Aid Unit, and a 1999 Fire Command Unit, under the direction of Fire Chief Scott A. LaVielle.
