Ballots for the Aug. 17 all mail-in primary election will be sent to voters by July 28.
The candidates in Highline districts are bunched up in two races.
Four candidates have filed to run for Sharon Nelson's Position 2 state representative position in the 34th Legislative District.
Nelson, a Democrat, is running unopposed for state Sen. Joe McDermott's 34th District senate seat while McDermott is seeking the King County Council post once held by County Executive Dow Constantine, and now being temporarily held by Jan Drago.
Democratic party candidates running for Nelson's old spot are Joe Fitzgibbon, Burien Planning Commission member; Mike Heavey,
Drago's director of Outreach and Constituent Relations; and Marcee Stone from West Seattle. Geoffrey 'Mac" McElroy, also from West Seattle, is running as an independent.
Besides McDermott, candidates running for the nonpartisan County Council No. 8 seat are Diana Toledo, a former county employee, carpenter Tim Fahey and Normandy Park City Councilman Shawn McEvoy. Constantine gave up the seat when he was elected county executive. Drago was appointed to fill the seat but is not running for election.
Normandy Park resident Dan Satterberg, the incumbent, is running unopposed as a Republican for county prosecuting attorney.
In the other 34th District state representative race, incumbent Eileen L. Cody, Democrat, is running against Ray Carter, who is listed as "Prefers Reluctantly GOP Party."
In the 11th District Position 1 state representative race, Sarah Sanoy-Wright, "States No Party Preference," is competing against incumbent Zack Hudgins, Democrat.
Incumbent Bob Hasegawa, Democrat, is pitted against Jackie Moore, No Party Preference; and John Potter, Republican, for the 11th District Position 2 state representative seat.
Jack Michalek, Republican, is running against incumbent Karen Keiser, Democrat, for state senator in the 33rd District.
Democratic incumbents Tina Orwall and Dave Upthegrove are running unopposed to keep their 33rd District state representative seats.
Susan Mahoney and Judith R. Eiler filed to run for District Court Southwest Electoral District Judge Position 2.
David M. Christie, Vicki M. Seitz, D. Mark Eide and Elizabeth D. Stephenson are running unopposed for the other Southwest district judge positions. The judgeships are nonpartisan seats.
The two candidates with the most votes in the Aug. 17 primary will move on to the Nov. 2 general election, regardless of party.
