Just hang up if you get a call from an 876 area code about a special package being delivered. A local resident received such a call (it originated in Jamaica), and the male voice on the other end of the line described an, um, different type of “package” that was allegedly on its way to her.
When an officer spotted a car with expired tabs on Admiral Way, he signaled the driver to pull over. A computer check showed that the 30-year-old West Seattle resident was driving with a suspended license and that he was wanted in Kirkland for a previous suspended license offense. Plus Bellevue Police wanted him on a $2,000 warrant for theft in the 3rd degree. He was booked into King County Jail.
Lowman Beach Park was the scene of two incidents this week. In one, a transient was trespassed from the area after a citizen saw him masturbating. In the other, a homeless woman called 911 from a a nearby residence after her boyfriend assaulted her for no reason as they “camped” in the park. Bruised, and with a swollen, bloody lip, she was transported to Harborview for treatment.
Friday afternoon, citizens called to report a man acting bizarrely and following a woman down an alley near Findlay and California Ave. SW. The woman admitted that the man was her boyfriend and that he had begun acting strange after being given a drink by someone at a nearby store. She felt that he might have been dosed with Ecstasy. Officers noted that he was chanting waving his arms, sweating and panting. His eyes were bulging and he was not blinking. The 21-year-old SeaTac resident was handcuffed for safety until medics could arrive, restrain him, and transport him to Harborview for treatment.
Catalytic converter thieves are on the prowl again, striking last week in the Belvidere neighborhood in Admiral and to the southwest and southeast of the Alaska Junction.
A man who claims he suffers from bi polar, manic, ADHD, and post traumatic stress disorder” (and who “self medicates with marijuana”) was taken to Harborview for treatment on Sunday after holding up traffic by walking down the middle of California SW near SW Dawson. He stated, “I walked 72 steps in the road with my eyes closed because I was told to.”
