Donna Jean Carlstrom passed away September 25, 2005, eight days shy of her 80th birthday.
She was born October 3, 1925, in Yakima to Harlan and Viola Keesler and was their only child. Donna was a long time West Seattle resident and graduated from West Seattle High School. She was so courageous and strong throughout her extended illness and fought it with all that she had. Our mom was always so kind, thoughtful and giving of herself, even when she was very ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Richard (Dick), who passed away in 1993.
Donna leaves behind her children: Barbara (Greg), Robin (Mike), David (DeAnne), Susan and Kevin. She also has seven grandchildren and two-great grandchildren.
Donna enjoyed reading, sewing, crossword puzzles, the Mariners and bowling. But her family was her greatest pleasure and she loved making big holiday meals for all of us to enjoy. We will miss her more than words could ever express.
There was a private family graveside service where she was laid to rest beside her husband Richard. On October 8, 2005, at 3 p.m., friends and family are invited to join us at Fernwood at the Park, the retirement center where she lived the last two years of her life. Mom made many friends at Fernwood and truly enjoyed living there. We will always love you Mom!
Memorial contributions may be made to Highline Hospice Center.
