Out to clean dirty cars and raise money for the Burien BearcatsXavier Cardenas up on top and from left are Starr West, Riley McFarland, Kya Dunagan, Austin Hollis, Daviona Jolly.
The Burien Bearcats Youth Football and Cheer team was out campaigning and car washing with a passion on Saturday Aug. 14 in White Center at the corner of 16th Ave. S.W. and 102nd S.W.
The team has started practices but won't start league play until the second week of September. George Jackson is the Athletic Director for the team and the Car Wash and BBQ. The Northwest Junior Football League the Bearcats play in has 5 levels from "Six year olds all the way up to 14," said Jackson. Each team in the league has about 30 players and the Bearcats play at Kennedy High School.
"The fundraiser is to raise money to buy equipment, pay for fields, insurance, league fees, everything the kids need," Jackson added.
The team also has a cheer squad who were out in force at the event, cheering, and getting attention from passing cars.
