Two films by Ballard High School Video Production students will be showcased during the Seattle International Film Festival's 1 Reel Film Festival during Bumbershoot 2010.
The Ballard High School short films – "The Crumb" by Emily Deerling, Karli Lafferty, Sarah Maloney and Taylor Rubright and "Reflection" by Sheridan Koehler and Blair Scott – will be part of a program dedicated to winners of the Northwest High School Film Festival.
"The Crumb" is a humorous look at the extremes of obsessive compulsion. "Reflection" examines the cost of bad choices. Both films were student Emmy nominees at the Northwest Regional Emmy Awards last spring and Official Selections at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth.
The showcase of Northwest High School Film Festival winners will be screened at SIFF Cinema from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 5.
Bumbershoot 2010 tickets are on sale online and will also be available at the gates at Seattle Center on Bumbershoot weekend. One entrance ticket gets you a full days worth of entertainment – there is no separate ticketing for the 1 Reel Film Festival.
