Tom was a loving husband to Beverly Ann for 42 years. He was also a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Tom died unexpectedly, but lived a full and rewarding life.

He was happiest when surrounded by his family, kids and grandkids. Tom loved his work and spent many hours each day detailing rebar for his long-time customers who he also considered great friends.

He was born in Pringle, South Dakota, to Mable Ruth McClaren and Lester Aaron Waggoner, and moved to Washington as a teenager, graduating from Highline High School in 1950. After a short stint in the military, he began a long and rewarding career in the steel industry. He met his wife at Bethlehem Steel and together they owned and operated various construction companies in Washington and Alaska before they “retired” in 1976 to operate a fishing resort in Sekiu, Wash. After 10 years in Sekiu, they “retired” again to Seattle, where Tom continued to enjoy his retirement by working daily in his office so he could “play” on the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, each spring. He was a loyal fan to his kids and grandkids and would show up unexpectedly to their various sports and activities. He also supported his wife and her friends in her bingo and bowling festivities and celebrated each New Year’s Eve by actually playing a game of bingo with “His Ladies.”

Tom is survived by his wife, Bev; and children Dawn (Dale), Renae (Grant), Sheryl (Fred), and Charles (Jennifer). He is also survived by his other children, including Donald and Kathy Waggoner; his grandchildren, Danielle, Justin, Charlene, Samantha, Conner, Cooper, Kelsey, Jessica, Ginger, Tamara, Elijah and Simone; and great-grandchild Maili Lani.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kona.
