Chefs and Local Food Producers are the Stars at the 7th Annual Eat Local Now! Dinner Event

The chefs take center stage at the 7th Annual Eat Local Now! dinner at Herban Feast’s Sodo Park venue on September 30th. Sustainable West Seattle, CoolMom, Herban Feast and The Seattle Good Business Network are partners in the event.
The featured chefs include many Seattle favorites, including:

Traci Knight - Personal Chef

Jack Spiess - Seatown
Jacob Wiesberg - Blackboard Bistro
Local food producers and providers include: Field Roast, Full Circle Farm, Bird on a Wire, Radical Cupcake, Mashiko, Spud, Elliott Bay Brewing, Thundering Hooves Farm, PCC, Platypus Breads, Seatown Snack Bar, Blackboard Bistro, The Grange Café, Blackboard Bistro, Alvarez Organic Farm, Big Al Brewing, Chef Tracy Knight, Chef Ariel Bangs, Salumi, Brian Allen, Charlies Produce, Willie’s Organic Greens, Hope Burundi Cooperative and the Somali-Bantu Farmers of Washington.
The evening includes dinner, exhibitors, and speakers active in the local food movement, a silent auction and music. Eat Local Now! encourages participation in local food systems, bolstering the local economy and the development of green jobs.
Local food from Puget Sound will be prepared by the featured chefs. Locally and sustainably produced beer, wine and fresh cider will be available at a cash bar. Other organizations involved in our local food economy will have information at the event about purchasing locally as well as growing your own food.
Non-profit and local business exhibitors will display information on many local food related organizations and a silent auction will feature a wide variety of locally donated items ranging from restaurant gift certificates to CSA subscriptions.
The 7th Annual Eat Local Now! event supports our local food producers and allows all members of the community the opportunity to talk to the farmers, fishers, ranchers, bakers and those who make the local food system possible. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for children.
