H. Tito Blanco, a wonderful and cherished husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.
Tito is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, of 58 years; his four daughters, Suzanne (Eddie) Constant, Bellingham, Roxanne (Charles) Blanco-Mitchell, Seattle, Marcia (Kelly) Loreth, Renton, and Lisanne Blanco, Seattle; seven grandchildren, Yancey, Denise, Andrea, Melissa, K.J., Wills and Shayne; six great-grandchildren, one sister and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel in 1994.
Born in El Paso, Texas, he attended Austin High School where he met his wife, Gloria. He graduated from Texas Western College of Mines with a degree in Business Economics. Tito proudly served in the U.S. Army and Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He was stationed at Fairchild Air Force base and moved to Seattle in 1954 where he has resided ever since. He was the owner of Broadway Insurance Agency for 45 years and was still actively working at the age of 82. He was a UW Husky football season ticket holder for 42 years. Tito was a proud member of the Eagles, Elks and American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, exercising, and traveling with his wife. He loved dining and dancing every Saturday night, had a great passion for wine and a good joke. Tito generously donated to many different organizations.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Life Long Aids or Mercy Corps.
A celebration of his life and a reception will be held on April 10, 2006, at 10 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Southwest 128th Street and Ambaum Boulevard. Interment will immediately follow at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent.
