Jovita was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on Sept. 24, 1912, and passed away peacefully on June 1, 2006, at the age of 93. She was a resident of Seattle for many years, followed by several years in Colville, and most recently Redlands, Calif.
Jovita was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and eldest son Robert. She is survived by her daughter Janet Fitzpatrick and husband Douglas of Redlands, Calif.; sons Don Hartling and wife Carolyn of Coarsegold Calif., and Gary Hartling and wife Barbara of Colville; and daughter-in-law Carol Hartling of Anaheim, Calif. Jovita is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for family and close friends were held at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, SeaTac, on June 9. Remembrances may be made to the Braille Institute, 741 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90029.
