Joe was born Feb. 13, 1941, to Joseph and Valeria Bossi in Seattle, and died June 19, 2006, at Providence Mount St. Vincent.
He is survived by brothers, Paulist Father Stephen and Richard; sister-in-law, Margaret; nieces and nephews, Mary (husband, James Tessier), Joseph, Anne and Michael; and numerous cousins.
He was a 1959 graduate of Evergreen High School and a 1963 summa cum laude graduate of Seattle University in Physics. Joe earned a Master's degree in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD in Aeronautics from Stanford University. Joe retired as a Technical Fellow of The Boeing Company in 2000 after a long and successful career as an engineer in guidance and control systems. From 1979 to 1986, he was on the faculty of the Aeronautics & Astronautics Department at the University of Washington.
Joe was a long time member of Assumption Catholic Church, Seattle, where he served as a lector and an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Joe was highly intelligent with a wide range of interests. He was a gentle, generous, caring and loving man. He valued education and was a natural teacher, always eager to share his knowledge and understanding. His detailed explanations of world history, events and technology will be sorely missed. Joe's devotion to his family and friends will remain forever in the hearts of those who love him.
Funeral Mass was celebrated June 24 at Assumption Catholic Church, Seattle. Remembrances may be made to Providence Mount St. Vincent Foundation, 4831 35th Ave. S.W., Seattle, WA 98126.
