Priscilla E. Duncan

Priscilla Grace Eakin Duncan died peacefully at the age of 105 June 21, 2006, in Des Moines, Wash.

She was born in Astoria, Ore., on October 30, 1900, the daughter of Oregon pioneers James and Claribel Adams Eakin.

In 1925 she graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Oregon and began a 12-year career as a hospital lab technician in Portland. She became the first record librarian at Emanuel Hospital - thus allowing it to become a certified hospital.

She married Gordon A. Duncan in 1938 and they moved to Seattle and began building their home on the shores of Puget Sound. For the next 50 years, they raised their family, lived and worked in their hobby house in Seahurst. In retirement they traveled extensively - when she wasn't gardening or "playing hostess"! Priscilla was 60-year member of Lake Burien Presbyterian Church and the Seahurst Garden Club.

Gordon passed away in 1987 and Priscilla moved to Wesley Gardens in Des Moines. The family would like to express appreciation to the entire Wesley Homes staff for the loving care she received the past 19 years.

She was the beloved mother of daughter Priscilla Stephenson and son Gordon (Kathryn) of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; loving grandmother of Keith (Shannon) Wehe of Irvine, Calif., Jill (Peter) Luvaas of Beaverton, Ore., Gretchen (Scott) Walker of Milwaukie, Ore., Christy (Scott) Kazimour of Seattle, and Amy (Matt) Buell of Salt Lake City, Utah; special great-grandmother of seven, Nathaniel and Amanda Wehe, Austin and Quinten Luvaas, Brennan and Tristan Walker and Cameron Paul Duncan Kazimour - 5 months.

A Celebration of Priscilla's life was held Monday, July 10, 2006, at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church. Remembrances may be made to Wesley Homes Circle of Concern, 815 S. 216th St, Des Moines, WA 98198, Lake Burien Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
