The fifth-seeded Ballard High School girls soccer team was defeated by fourth-seeded Woodinville High School in the first round of the playoffs Oct. 30.

Woodinville got on the board first with a goal from Audrey Phillips in the 20th minute.

Senior Cricket Harber answered for the Beavers with a goal off a Kat Anesini assist early in the second half.

Woodinville's Christine Horne broke the tie and ended Ballard's playoff run with her score in the 72nd minute.

The loss broke the Beavers' three-match win streak and was the team's first loss in the past six matches.

Ballard will lose seniors Harber, Kelsey Barta, Bernie Cardon, Hannah Cross-Karras, Sara Gilmore, Jessica Spaulding, Jordan Travis and Maria Tsagalakis to graduation.
