Susan J. (McGee) Allred of Lilliwaup, Mason County, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at Valley Medical Center in Renton. She was 62 years of age.

Sue was born on Oct. 12, 1943, in Tonasket, Wash., the daughter of Vincent Paul and Catherine (Welch) McGee. She married Jay C. Allred on Feb. 19, 1966. They lived in the Top Hat area of South Seattle for over 30 years.

Following their retirement in 2000, Sue and Jay moved from their Seattle home to Lilliwaup, where they were active members of their community, the Colony Surf club. They traveled and camped, and enjoyed the retirement life they created together. After Jay's passing in 2003, Sue continued to live in Lilliwaup and has enjoyed and excelled at event and party planning for Colony Surf. She lived to spend time with her grandchildren and had begun to travel with friends and family, seize life's opportunities, and appreciate all of the wonderful blessings in her life.

Sue is survived by her daughters and their families: Denise Allred, of Des Moines, Cheryle (Jim) Murphy, of Newport, Wash., Karina (Gregg) Allred of Maple Valley, and Jaimee (Dan) Milton of Sammamish.

Sue is also survived by her sisters Marie (Bill) McLaughlin of Seattle and Eileen Ward of Klamath Falls, Ore., brother Bill (Polly) McGee of San Diego, and Pat Kamber, also of Lilliwaup.

Of those she held dear, none will feel her loss as much as her beloved grandchildren: Justin (Natalie) Murphy, Shannin Murphy, Kaden Stansbury, and Sam and Molly Milton, to whom she was known as Gran.

A memorial Mass was held August 22 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Seattle.

Friends are invited to share memories and sign the family's on-line guest book at www.flintofts.com.
