Douglas A. Nielsen passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 10, of heart failure at the age of 66.
He was a life-long resident of the Seattle area. He worked at Solburg Auto Parts, Washington Iron, and 16 years at the Highline School District as a delivery truck driver until he retired Jan. 1, 2002. Doug will always be remembered with a grin on his face and a good joke for the day. No matter where he went, Doug left a trail of friends. To know Doug was to love him.
He is survived by Judy Pat, his wife of 42 years, his two sons David and Dean, and his daughter Michelle and her husband Steve Larson and their four children, Luke, Olivia, Jake and Ben. Every moment Doug spent with his grandchildren was precious to him. His love will be with them always.
He is also survived by his sister, Paula A. Miller, her husband Stanton Miller, his mother Irene Nielsen, and mother-in-law May Smith.
Doug will be forever missed by all of his many friends and beloved family. Rest in peace-we love you.
