An act of generosity may have lead to violence after a night of drinking and karaoke at Goofy's Sports Bar when "Tom" bought drinks for a handful of who he said were bar regulars, unintentionally flashing a wallet containing $1,000 in $100 bills.
Tom left the bar at closing time and was heading north on 15th Avenue Northwest when he was pushed down by one of the suspects, who Tom told police worked at the bar. The man demanded money and took Tom's wallet and shirt, which were later recovered in the parking lot empty of cash and ripped, respectively.
A getaway vehicle for the suspect, as well as the rest of the group Tom had bought drinks for, was driven by a female with brown hair. Tom said the vehicle returned several times while he waited for police.
"The bartender knows them," Tom repeatedly told police about the suspects.

Around 3 a.m. July 22, flames engulfed a Ballard four-plex. One resident jumped from the second-story window to escape, breaking both ankles and bones in both feet. Another of the building's five occupants was while escaping, suffering burns to his hands and feet.
Sometime between Nov. 5 and Nov. 8, the four-plex, which is unoccupied and still under renovation from the fire, was broken into. Nothing was reported missing or damaged.
11 a.m. May 1 – 10 p.m. Oct. 4, 2200 N.W. 65th St.
A rash of small-time burglaries has plagued a Ballard residence since the beginning of summer, and everyone is a suspect.
"Sheila" said at first a little money from a purse or wallet would be missing, then it was a ring or bracelet. Most recently, two weeks ago, a diamond ring was missing from her jewelry box.
There has been no forced entry into the house, but Sheila provided police with a "short list" of possible suspects.
Her 16-year-old son and his friend lived at her home all summer. They may have had many people over. Her son's friend has had trouble with taking things in the past, Sheila told police.
Also, for the past two years Sheila has been renting a basement room to a couple.
In addition, Sheila's 19-year-old daughter and her friend would stay at her home when they were in town.
When there is no shortage of suspects, constant vigilance is required. Sheila told police she has secured the rest of her valuables.

An unknown suspect climbed onto the sleeping victim's balcony. The resourceful thief opened the door a crack and used a broomstick from the balcony to reach inside the apartment and slide a laptop across the floor and into his possession.
Even before its unceremonious brooming, the laptop had seen better days. It is described as featuring two stickers – "a Roxy flower" and "white ninjas" – and a number of broken keys.
