Elmer D. (Sam) Woods, age 991/2, was born Feb. 11, 2007, in Sunnydale, Wash. He died peacefully Oct. 3, 2006, after a long and healthy life filled with gardening, fishing, hunting, and an innate ability to do most everything. He loved his family and friends and was always there to tell stories, visit and to help others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence, of 57 years and stepson William E. Bardell. He is survived by his brother Everett L. Woods and his stepdaughter Donna Urry, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park.
