SLIDESHOW: Craft Fair and Open Houses get the holiday season off to a bright start

Schmitz Park Elementary held their annual Holiday Craft Fair and had a decent turnout of neighbors and holiday craft shoppers.
Selling at the Fair was Team Go For it, part of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life who crafted gift items out of pine cones including reindeer and a turkey. At the table were Elise Mackley, Shanilla Morgan, and Natalie Bumgardner. This was their first time at the fair.
Fiona Preedy, President of the Schmitz Park PTSA was on hand selling school logo mugs raising money for Island Web, an environmental education program on Whidbey Island, where the Schmitz Park fourth grade class will visit in February for full week.
Crafty Clementine was at the fair selling dessert pedestals by Brittany VonSpreecken and pen and pencil pots by Joyce Shoemaker.
Over at Junction True Value Hardware the World's Largest Christmas Stocking was on display and they were handing out free gifts, cider and cookies. The stocking can be won in a drawing in the store Dec. 15. There's also a drawing for a Weber Grill (but you might want to wait to use it until the weather is warmer) to be awarded Nov. 23.
J.F. Henry was decked out in holiday style with trees in the window and holiday dishware and much more on display.
Northwest Art and Frame held the second part of their weekend open house with Enjoy exclusive open house specials, live product demo’s, free prizes, artist’s demo’s, free samples, treats & goodies.
Vicki Stack was there for her business called Stack and Company selling activity art books that are the part of her product line.
Allen Morgan served coffee for the open house. He is the owner, Dan Reiner's father-in-law. He served dozens of cookies cider and coffee. His wife Joan helped out as well.
