Shirley Hanson Trautmann

Dec. 8, 1929 - Oct. 27, 2006

Our Mother, Grandmother and Sister left us on Oct. 27, 2006, leaving us with many humorous memories, mainly political.

She was born in Hoquiam and raised in Port Orchard. Her parents were Henry O. and Lillian (Sandberg) Hanson. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1947. She went on to attend Western Washington State College, graduating in 1962. On March 7, 1951, she married Roderick J. Trautmann.

Teaching French, German and Russian at Evergreen High School for 30 years brought her a lot of joy and friendships that continued long after her retirement in 1988. She will always be remembered as Madame Trautmann.

She lived in the Burien area until 1996, moving to Hood's Canal to be closer with her family.

Now reunited with her love, Roderick, parents, sisters Jeanesse Shepherd and Joan Moore, she leaves behind her son Dale Trautmann-Belfair, daughters Nancy Orsborn-Verlot and Margaret Pugh-Belfair, grandchildren Travis and Stacey Orsborn, Rena and Joe Pugh, and siblings Henry Hanson, Snohomish-County, and Nancy Carney, Port Orchard.

A private family service will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park.
