The state outside the vacant Lunchbox Laboratory
The lunchbox laboratory closed on Sunday, Dec 19th, but their trash is still outside the now vacant building on 73rd Street and 15th Ave N.W.
The BNT received a call today from a frequent customer of Jenny Nails next door to the relocated restaurant.
“That place is the epitome of dirtiness,” Kathy Abendroth said. “There’s trash everywhere.”
Walking up to her nail appointment, Abendroth said there were oils on the ground and the trash was attracting crows.
“If you have crows by day, you have rats at night,” Abendroth said.
Abendroth said she has called the Health Department who agreed to send an inspector to the site.
Le Han, owner of Jenny Nails, said she called the landlord and was told the owners had a ten day period to clean up the mess.
Han said that was six days ago.
“I’ve been in Ballard a very long time,” said Abendroth. “And this is something Ballard residents won’t stand for.”
BNT was unable to contact the owners of Lunchbox Laboratory at the time of publication.
