Almy "Scotty" Burke passed away July 22, 2007, in the presence of her husband and her two children. Scotty is survived by her loving husband. Jack, her son Shawn, her daughter Shannon, her grandsons Jesse and Kevin Jr., many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
She fought hard but lost her battle with Spindel Cell, a rare and aggressive cancer.
Scotty was born on a ranch near Mildred, Montana, on Oct. 27, 1923, to Jesse and Elizabeth Trafton. She was preceded by both her brothers, Sherman and Leslie.
Scotty and Jack met in high school and were married soon after. Once Jack began working as a pilot for Pan Am the two of them enjoyed many trips away together. Unable to have children, they adopted and gave their love to Shawn and Shannon.
Scotty's family and friends were her main source of joy, though she enjoyed ballroom dancing, videotaping, shopping and holidays as well.
Please celebrate Scotty's life with us at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home in Burien on Aug. 18 at 2 p.m.
Please send any remembrances to Highline Hospital Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
