Frances "Fran"

Monroe Perrine

Fran died August 7, 2007, after a long struggle with dementia.

Fran was born March 19, 1923, in Melrose, Massachusetts, to Paula Lange (Clough) and Perley Monroe Bartlett. She and friend Carol (Buck) Scheerer came west to stay for a year, both married, Fran to M. Jordan Perrine, and almost became Westerners. Fran put her experience to use at Boeing Flight Test and became a shift supervisor. On "retiring" to home she bore daughters Jill Elizabeth Tiffany and Rebecca Ann Perrine. After residing on North Hill in Des Moines for a dozen years the family then moved to Normandy Park. Fran was involved in many activities such as League of Women Voters, tennis, swimming, mountain sports, gardening, the Des Moines Food Bank and church, for just a few. She returned to school to obtain a Teaching Certificate and was Librarian at Des Moines Elementary in the Highline School District till retirement.

Fran is survived by her daughters and two granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Tiffany and Rebecca Jo Tiffany.

A Memorial service was held at Normandy Park Congregational Church on Aug. 25. Please send remembrances to the Normandy Park Congregational Church, League of Woman Voters or Highline Teachers Association.
