Dale Woodson Parker passed away to heaven August 13, 2007. Dale was born September 10, 1923, in Wapinita, Oregon.
Mr. Parker served with the Merchant Marines in World War II. Dale graduated from San Francisco Mortuary College in 1947. While attending college, he met Louise at Glide Memorial Church. They were married November 10, 1947. This year would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.
Dale is survived by his wife, Louise; three children: Judy (Dean) Bame, Phyllis (Mike) Williams, and Clair (Karen) Parker; and grandchildren Matthew (Laurie) Mitchell and Maria de LaGuardia; Jessica and John Dale "Jack" Parker, and sister Dena Smith.
Dale felt called to serve families in a greater capacity by building his own funeral chapel in 1963. It was his desire to offer a positive experience on death for grieving families. He was a gifted comforter and dearly loved his work. He was honored to serve many families and friends in their time of need. He retired in March 1987.
A service was held on Wednesday, August 15, at Parker's Chapel, Bonney-Watson Burien. Private interment was at Mt. Tahoma, Washington.
