Mary Ann Marinich

Mary Ann Marinich, daughter of the late Fred and Mary Jovanovich and beloved wife of Anthony Marinich, passed away suddenly on Sept. 10, 2007.

Mary Ann was born in Roslyn, Wash., on July 8, 1941. She graduated from Highline High School, attended the University of Washington, and worked for the Bon Marche for many years. She married Anthony Marinich on Sept. 9, 1967. They had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Mary Ann was an active member of the West Seattle and Crestwood Garden Clubs, the Croatian Fraternal Union, the Y.L.I. supporting shelters for homeless women, and St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Her hobbies included cake decorating, doll making, gardening and cooking. Mary Ann especially enjoyed her cabin in Cle Elum and spending time with her family.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Anthony, brothers Frank, Fred, Jack, John, Tony and Larry Jovanovich, their wives, her many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Mary Ann was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt and friend. She will be forever in our hearts.

A funeral service was held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Burien on September 14. Memorials may be sent to the Croatian Fraternal Union Scholarship Fund, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Spoon River College Foundation, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements were entrusted to Bonney-Watson Parker Chapel, Burien.
