Police Blotter: Assault by taser, robberies, and the swinging of a hatchet

12:52 a.m. on February 26. 73rd block of 15th Avenue N.W.
On Friday around midnight police responded to a call of an assault by taser. The victim told police that he let a male stay with him for a few weeks but later told him he could no longer stay. On Friday night the male dropped by to pick up his belongings. The victim said there was animosity between the two of them and did not let the male into his apartment. The suspect then pulled a stun gun from his left pocket and shocked the victim on the neck and on the wrist. The suspect then left in a brown vehicle with gold stripes down the side, possibly an Acura. The suspect was not located during an area search
9:42 p.m. on February 24. 45th block of 8th Avenue N.W.
On Thursday night police responded to an aggravated assault at a motor home. The witness told police that he wanted the suspect to leave, but she refused. The victim then arrived and asked the suspect to leave the witness’ motor home. The suspect then began to throw items in the motor home and picked up a hatchet and began to swing it. Both the witness and victim were standing outside on the planting strip as the suspect was inside the motor home. The suspect swung the hatchet as if to cut the victim as he stood at the front entrance doorway. The victim told police that he feared the suspect would cut him if he had not backed up. The victim fled and called 911. The suspect was transported to the north precinct and booked at King County Jail.
6:00 p.m. on February 24. 80th block of 28th Avenue N.W.
On Thursday evening, police responded to a burglary. Witnesses said they observed a suspect back his vehicle into the victim’s fence, knocking it over. Witnesses said two other suspects attempted to get into the vehicle, yelling “Let me in.” The suspect in the vehicle then pulled forward, striking the retaining wall of the victim’s residence, and fled through an alleyway onto N.W. 83rd Street. The two suspects on foot fled westbound to 28th Avenue NW. One of the suspects on foot threw a large flat screen television to the ground. Police located a back door facing an alley that had been smashed open. Police located a bottle of liquor and a guitar lying on the ground outside. The items were brought back into the home. A search for latent prints of the suspects was unsuccessful.
2:27 p.m. on February 25. 73rd block of 15th Avenue N.W.
On Friday afternoon police responded to a burglary at a specialty store. The store manager told police that the display office had been broken into. Inside the room were ladders and empty display boxes of power tools. A window on the north side of the room had been smashed and was the only point of entry or exit. The store manager told police that the display boxes had been moved, but nothing was missing, and that he had already cleaned up the broken window. The store manager reported that the broken window cost $150.
11:37 p.m. on February 25. 26th block of NW 62nd Street
On Friday night police responded to an armed robbery. The victim told police that he was getting out of his vehicle, fumbling with his keys, when a white male walked in front of him and stopped. The suspect said to the victim, “Give me your wallet, money, and cell phone.” The victim replied saying, “You’re kidding me, right?” The suspect then pointed at handgun at the victim, who then threw his wallet, money, and cell phone on the street by the trunk of his car. The suspect picked up the items and ran southbound toward the west side of the parking lot. The victim described the suspect as a 5’7” to 5’9” white male with short, light hair, weighing around 150 pounds. The suspect was dressed in dark pants and a thin nylon-like dark jacket. The suspect had a black scarf pulled low over his face and held a small, black handgun. The victim has since deactivated his cell phone service and cancelled his credit and bank cards.
5:24 p.m. on February 24. 56th block of 22nd Avenue NW
On Thursday evening police responded to a report of a shop lift. The woman police spoke with said that the suspect had been recognized as someone who had trespassed the store a long time ago. The woman decided to watch the suspect and said that the suspect walked around the store for about 30 minutes before walking to a checkout stand. The suspect told the clerk that the cough medicine she was holding had been purchased somewhere else and that she had brought it into the store with her. After the suspect left, the woman asked the clerk if the cough medicine was paid for. The clerk said no. The woman saw the victim select the cough medicine from a store shelf and contacted the store manager. The store workers went outside and found the suspect and approached her. The suspect again said that she had brought the medicine into the store with her and attempted to flee on foot. The suspect was handcuffed and brought back into the store, where she then cooperated. The suspect was identified and released after signing paperwork from the store.
4:49 a.m. on February 28. 24th block of N.W. Market Street
In the early morning hours on Monday, police responded to a burglary at Archie McPhees. When police arrived, they discovered that the front door had been pried open but no suspects or tools were found. Only two generators near the front door entrance were taken.
7:14 a.m. on February 28. 47th block of Ballard Avenue N.W.
On Monday morning police responded to a burglary at a specialty store. The store worker told police that the front window to the store entry way was found broken and that the alarm was not going off. Police checked the main floor, basement, and upper four floors and found no sign of anything or anyone suspicious. None of the computers were touched and nothing was taken.
4:21 a.m. on February 28. 14th Block of N.W. Leary Way
Early Monday morning police responded to a commercial alarm call at a store. Police found a shattered glass front door. No suspects were found. The alarm company notified the subscriber, who arrived and walked through the business with police. A Mi-T-M brand 2500psi pressure washer valued around $850 was missing. The shattered double pane glass door was estimated to be around $1,300 to replace.
