Elsie Vauna Shuck

Elsie Vauna Shuck passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning September 25, 2007, from a courageous fight from Cancer.

She was born Elsie Vauna Mullvain in Minot, N.D., the youngest daughter of Fern and Francis Mullvain. At the age of 16, after her father's passing, she and her mother moved to Seattle where she graduated from Garfield High School in 1945. She married Elliot Cecil Shuck May 1, 1949, and together they built a wonderful life in the Seattle area, where they raised five loving daughters. Elsie worked as an accountant most of her life at Mack Truck then Brown Trucking. Later, along with her husband, they made an impressionable change as apartment managers for Scott Real Estate. Until her retirement at age 77 she was resident manager at Parkwing Apartments on lower Queen Anne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Elliot, of 49 years, brother Patrick Mullvain of Oxnard, Calif., and sister Nellie Pass of Boise, Idaho.

She is survived by her sister Nita Harris of Minnetonka, Minn.; daughters and sons-in-law Pam and Phil Squires of Burien, Trish Pfingsten and Rick Rees of Edmonds, Debbie and Rick Grein of Kent, Becki Craig of Bonney Lake, Cindy and John Stolz of Enumclaw, Rick Pfingsten of Spanaway, and Doug Craig of Bonney Lake; grandchildren Christy and Francisco Luis, Cecily and Bryce Bishop, Leanne and Ed Suhoversnik, Aaron Squires, Jesse and Kristen Pfingsten, Illene and Michele Stolz, Shane Craig, Dereck and Dylan Grein, and Anthony and Joseph Rees; and great-granddaughters Mariah Luis and Anna Suhoversnik.

Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9., at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1535 Washington Avenue, Enumclaw. A reception will follow at the family home in Kent.
