West Seattle Little League will miss the March 26 deadline for completing the improvements to Bar-S field.
That was the day they had scheduled for the official ribbon cutting ceremony but that will not now be possible.
League President Mark Terao reports, "Mother nature along with other hold ups and delays put up too many obstacles for us to overcome.
We will re-evaluate what is needed for completion along with establishing the new timeline for completion so that we can set up a new ribbon cutting date.
It is my hope to complete the project within a few weeks.
Our opening day Jamboree will still take place."
Terao estimates it could be up to a month for certain elements to be done. "Much of this project was done with donated labor so we have to work around their schedules," he said.
The field improvements were begun with grants from the Boeing Company and the Seattle Mariners and the ribbon cutting will still take place, just later than they had planned. "We want to have representative from both organizations here so we can thank them publicly," Terao said.
