Thomas T. McLeod, 78, died on October 7, 2007, at Highline Medical Center in Burien. Thomas was born on August 9, 1929, in Bellingham. He graduated from Lynden High School in 1947, the University of Washington in 1952, with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and the University of California - Berkeley in 1956, with a Masters in Engineering.
Thomas married Corinne J. Fletcher in December 1951 in Bellingham. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. After working in Vancouver, Olympia and Seattle as a traffic and state aid engineer, he retired in 1982 from the Washington State Department of Transportation. Thomas was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Burien, the Clan MacLeod Society, and served as a leader with his wife of a support group through the King County Multiple Sclerosis Society at Valley General Hospital in Renton.
He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Corinne, of Burien; his brother, James S. (Doris) McLeod of Bellingham; his daughters, Janis (Larry) Flue of Lynden, and Jill (Steven) Woodworth of Lacey; his grandchildren, Shawn (Carla) Flue of Lynden, Craig (Vanessa) Woodworth of Chicago, Ill, and Angela Flue of Lynden; seven nieces and one nephew.
A memorial service was held on October 16 at 1:00 pm at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Burien. A graveside interment was held on October 17 at Moles-Greenacres Memorial Park, Ferndale. Arrangements made through Yarington's Funeral Home, 10708 16th Ave. SW, Seattle. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Burien.
