An accident involving a yellow smart car resulted in injuries for a woman and a 2 year old child shortly before 4:00 pm at the intersection of California and Lander Street s.w. in the Admiral District.
Aid units from Engine 32 and others responded to the scene. Two ambulances were called one for each victim but the extent of their injuries is not yet known but both were taken to Harborview Hospital where they are in serious condition.
Update 1
KOMO News reported that the injured woman was the child's nanny. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening but serious injuries, according to the report.

According to Lt. Ronald Smith with the SPD Southwest Precinct, the involved vehicle was stopped at the intersection of California Ave. s.w. and s.w. Lander St, started to make a turn onto California and struck the adult female nanny and child crossing the intersection.
Lt. Smith said the child's head was bumped and the nanny received a broken foot in the crash. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center and HMC told police the child is "OK."
The Smart Car involved in the crash showed no signs of damage, Lt. Smith said.
