Joseph Patrick Kussman

1937-2007

Pat passed at his home Saturday. November 10, after fighting a courageous battle against Melanoma cancer. He went to sleep peacefully surrounded by his family.

Pat was born in Seattle on October 21, 1937, to Joseph and Adele Mary Kussman and spent his entire life living in Burien. After graduating from Highline High School he went to work for United Airlines where he worked for 45 years until retirement in 2001.

Pat's passion after he retired became golf and more golf. He truly enjoyed his golf league and the time he spent playing the game with his friends. He especially loved golfing and traveling with his wife, Sandi. Pat's other passions were the times he spent with his two grandchildren Jessica and Colin, grocery shopping for the best bargains, UW Husky Football and researching micro-brew beers.

Pat is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandi, his daughters Lisa (Darrell) Rice and Shannon (Don) Cooper, grandchildren Jessica and Colin Rice, brothers Mike (Yvette) and Dennis, Aunt Jean McCall, cousin Kelly Sheehan (Susan) and numerous friends and relatives.

Pat's cup was always half full. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and always found the good and positive in everything and everybody. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and mentor.

"If there is golfing in heaven Pat's on the first tee"!

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Pat's name to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
