November 26, 2007

JK passed away in the early morning hours of November 26 in his bed at home. John was a 13-year survivor of a Kidney and Pancreas Transplant.

John was born in White Center and was a proud and loyal member of that community for 58 years and was known as the leader of the herd. John was a free spirit who always marched to a different drummer.

He graduated from O'Dea High School in 1968, then attended Western Washington University in Bellingham for four years. JK traveled the 48 contiguous states as a portrait photographer for a number of years. Later in life he worked as a commercial fisherman. Gardening was another activity that gave him much joy and satisfaction and most of his brothers and sisters benefited from his work and knowledge.

John is survived by his six remaining brothers: Pat (Jackie-deceased), Bill (Shirley), Steve, Dennis (Margaret-deceased), Tom (Kathi) and Bob (Rose); and his three sisters: Judy Salser (George-deceased), Mariclaire Healy (Tim), Cathy Benedict (Jim): along with 27 nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews. His brother Dan (Betty) preceded him in death along with his parents Steve and Claire Kinsella and one niece.

John will be greatly missed by his family and many, many friends.

Memorial Mass was Monday, December 3, 2007, at St. Bernadette Church, Burien.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances be made to University of Washington Medical Center, Transplant Services.
