Long-time resident of the big blue house on 152nd Street _in Burien, she _left the arms of her family for the arms of God on December 4 in_ Kent at the age of 73.
Helen Mae Hanson was born in Seattle _on December 19, 1933, to Oscar Hanson (Sweden) _and Johanna Isaksen (Norway) _and was sister to Vivian Matthews (husband Pierre), both deceased. _
Helen was married to Donald AE Kauffman on March 11, 1950. Helen _was a highly regarded employee of the U.S. Postal Service, retiring _in 1994 after 27 years. Helen loved God, the ocean beaches, she loved reading _and camping with her family and attending the sporting events of her many _grandchildren.
Services were held at Galilee_ Baptist Church _in Kent_ where she was a long-time member on December 8, 2007. Interment was at Tahoma National_ Cemetery in Kent. _
Helen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don Kauffman; _her children, Ken Kauffman (Jeanie), Wayne Kauffman, Rod Kauffman (Jennifer), _Cyndee Lucas and Bonnie (Mark) LeMay; and the joy of her life, her 15 grandchildren: Trisha Renee Kauffman, Sean Kristopher Kauffman, Angela Eileen_ Strupp, Andrew Mark LeMay, Ryan Jeffrey Kauffman, Alexander Donald Kauffman, _ Mathew Graham LeMay, Rachelle Joy Kauffman, Tristan Robert Lucas, Kevin Adam _Kauffman, Derek Randall Kauffman, Eric Rodney Kauffman, Trevor Christian Lucas,_ Karly Rebecca Kauffman and Holly Marie LeMay and six great-grandchildren who all _reside in this area.
Helen loved her many nieces and _nephews and their spouses including her sister's children Dave (Sonja)_ Matthews and Kathy (Ron) Albertson; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: _Ellen (Bob) Troeppl, Natalie (Win) Pritchett, Muriel Kauffman, Paul (Peg)_Kauffman. Helen dearly loved her family and we all loved her and will miss her immensely.
